Second time around postpartum, and what a beautiful journey it has been.
This time, I put zero pressure on myself. I trusted my instincts, accepted help from others so I could rest, and did all the things I wish I'd done the first time around.
I finally understand what people mean when they say, "It takes a village."
I'm getting teary-eyed writing this because I wish I'd known the first time that postpartum doesn't have to be scary, stressful, or lonely. I wish I'd known it was okay to let people help and not let outside noise influence my decisions or make me doubt what felt right for me and my baby.
To anyone in the thick of postpartum right now, be kind to yourself. You don't have to do it all alone.
